It is a genuine OEM sourced part which is specially designed for use with Makita shears. The socket bolt attaches to the shear head and is made of metal. During replacement, it will require an allen wrench to help install this item correctly. It will need to be replaced if it becomes stripped or broken. This part is available as an individual replacement.
