With a business in home repair and remodeling, I knew enough to know that I didn\'t know. So I studied the schematics and read things like this online to find out what I could prior to taking anything apart!
I then very carefully took the back of the staple gun off and removed the inside. I found a rubber seal that had disintegr ... Read more ated - it was crumbling like two day old stale cake. After cleaning all the pieces out of my stapler I identified the part that I needed on the schematic.
I then put everything back together *without* the necessary part (even though it was a simple disassembly, I knew that if I waited until I received the part to put everything back together I could have had a problem remembering exactly how everything went back together).
In the past I have also used my phone to take pictures of the disassembly as it progresses although I didn\'t this time because I was somewhat familiar with this tool. When I received the parts disassembling the staple gun again was very simple because I had done it just a week or so prior. When I put everything back together with the new part I was pleased that the stapler worked perfectly!
