This is genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for use with Porter Cable nailer. The nose cap is attached to end of the safety element to prevent the material that it is being used on from getting marred or dented by the pushing lever. It is a advisable to have one or two extra on hand as they do have a tendency to crack and deteriorate over time or simply get lost. This part is made out of plastic and it is sold individually. To replace this item you do not need any tools, simply slide it on the safety elements end.
Pulled the top of pinner off. 4 allen bolts. Removed the existing driver. Took off the rubber oring seal. Installed the oring on the new driver. Carefully pushed it back in the head of the pinner. Installed the 4 allen bolts and tested it for leaks.
