This genuine part is produced by the original manufacturer and is used on Hitachi pneumatic nailers. The spring provides the tension for the push lever that engages the tool when pressed into the nailing material. Over time the spring may loose its tension preventing the push lever from functioning as intended. The special metal spring is sold individually.
