It is a special o-ring which is generally utilized to provide an air-tight seal for the end cap, make sure to check the appropriate diagram of your model for the correct application of this hardware. The part is made of durable rubber and is sold individually, over time the material may wear out and begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement.
