This is a genuine Bostitch part sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in nailers. The exhaust deflector goes between the exhaust deflector bushing and the cap plate. An allen wrench may be necessary during the installation of this item. It may become broken and will need to be replaced. This is available as an individual replacement part and is made of plastic.
