The purpose of this bumper is to keep the piston from hitting the bottom of the cylinder and damaging it. Because this part gets so much abuse it has a tendency to crack and fall apart eventually requiring a replacement. nailer would not dispense nails

1. removed the top of the nailer.
2. removed the inner sleeve
3. replaced the bumper and orange washer
4. put sleeve and top in place
5. tested nailer and it worked like new

Broken piston/ shaft, heavy usage by prior owner.

Printed out a parts list.
Dissembled staple gun. Cleaning is a must for repair. Mark down which parts were needed to reassemble. Ordered parts. Piston liner was lightly scared, used a brake hone and cutting oil to take off rough areas. Using the parts list reassembled the gun. Make sure that you use some lubricant for the piston on assembly. Connected to shop air, Works like a brand new one.
