The ring provides a tight seal between the piston and the cylinder walls. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out causing low compression and diminished performance. It is a genuine OEM supplied item that is made for Bostitch staplers. When replacing this component, refer to the diagrams for your model to ensure the correct repair procedure. Note, this high-quality piston ring is made of durable material and is sold individually. An Allen wrench will be needed to take apart and reassemble the tool when replacing this part.
