This is an authentic OEM part which is designed for use with Bostitch nailers. It is a standard hardware which helps to secure the hook. This is an identical replacement for a damaged or a faulty part that was installed on a new unit. Check the appropriate diagrams for your model for the exact location and the correct application of this retaining ring. You will need a screwdriver to take apart the housing and snap-ring pliers to remove the old part and secure the new one. One durable metal retaining ring is included.
