Followed instructions I found on YouTube and on this website.
The repair was simple, cleaning the old grease from inside the unit took the most amount of time. Once I was satisfied all of the old lube was removed, I re-assembled the parts, checked for good alignment and smooth motion, re-lubed the entire mechanism, and closed it b ack up.
I do not own a pair of snap ring pliers so I struggled with the C-clip but managed OK with two sets of regular pliers and an extra pair of hands.
Actual time for the parts replacement was only about 15 minutes, but the total time was closer to an hour because of the soiled lube, there were metal chunks in it from where the gear tooth had broken off and also ground metal that I wanted to remove - lube should not be gritty so I opted to remove all traces from all parts.

I found the eReplacementParts YouTube video describing the repair to the KitchenAid Pro600 mixer which is our machine. I was able to use the video to familiarize myself with the equipment before attempting disassembly. This made identification of parts much easier and obtaining the replacement parts from your company was quite straight forward. Your rep was helpful and the parts were shipped out expeditiously, arriving in two days across country. One anomaly that I encountered, after completing the repair, I ran the mixer for a few minutes to get the grease throughout the gear assembly. I noticed a slight variation in speed while the machine was running. I don\'t know whether that is an indication of a problem or not.
Overall, I couldn\'t be more pleased with the tutorial, parts availability and support.

I used the disassembly/reassembly instructions on one of the eReplacementparts.com videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsbgUHAGWX4). It was excellent. From this, we discovered that we needed 4 parts in total - housing, bevel gear, worm gear, and one other part I can\'t recall the name of. We also needed to buy the planetar y grease. The video is extremely clear and lit well and it was very easy to follow in order to install all of the new parts.

This morning I used my newly repaired mixer to mix a batch of dough with no problems at all.

A tip: when removing the planetary, the grease may cause the fiber washer (B-11
Washer, Fiber Part #: 9703434) to stick underneath the main unit. I thought that I had lost this washer and ordered a new one. Be sure to check underneath to see if it\'s stuck there before deciding that the washer is lost and buying a new one.
