After removing the top cover and punch pin from the planetary, the retaining clip had to come off. Use a snap ring removal tool. Remove the washer, and slide the shaft down. Be sure to have the correct grease for Kitchen Aid mixer. Reassemble in the reverse order.

I used your exceptionally good repair video on You Tube after I had initially opened the mixer. But the key to success was the break-down repair parts diagrams on this web site. The detail was exceptional and allowed me to assess exactly what I needed and put the parts in the shopping cart as I went. The mixers are simple to repair once y ou see the basics. But I couldn\'t have done it so easily without the info and parts from eReplacementParts. Shipping was exceptionally quick and very well packaged.
