Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.

Got the miter saw from someone, and realized after much adjusting, that the laser would not get into proper position. Saw that the laser base was broken, upon disassembly of that section.

The guard needs to be disconnected at one point. Remove the hex bolt at the point where the guard connects to that sliding bar, which causes the guard to pivot (long flat bar, with a long slot); careful as there is a second washer on that bolt behind. Then on that same side, there is a small plate which holds the actual pivoting point a nd an internal return spring. Remove the hex bolt, and just loosen the phillips screw, as it is unnecessary to remove completely. You can now move that plate, and this will allow the guard to go completely down. You must do this, because you cannot remove the laser assembly without freeing up that extra space.

Now you can remove that laser assembly, it is pretty easy. just be careful not to lose any little parts: 2 coarse threaded screws, 2 machine screws, 2 springs, the little clear plastic dust shield.

Disconnect electrical clip.

And look: the laser can be removed by twisting back and forth and pulling out, but just don\'t for get this:

THERE IS A TINY LITTLE LOCK RING WHICH HOLDS THAT PLASTIC TIGHT, WHERE THE LASER RESTS INSIDE.

Easy to lose that lol. If u have small lock ring pliers, good. I got the thing off, but when i got to putting it on the new one it went flying. Took 30 min. to find lol. I ended up sliding it up one of the blades of some scissors, which opened it up, as i slid it up the blade, then put it on.

THIS WAS VERY LONG WINDED; you will actually find that it is rather intuitive.

THE MAIN THING:
LOOK OUT, AND BE SURE THAT U DIDN\'T LOSE ANY LITTLE PIECES, BECAUSE NOW IS THE TIME TO ORDER THEM, WHILE U ARE ORDERING THE LASER BASE.
