This kerf board is a genuine Makita replacement part, it is not an aftermarket imitation. It is designed for use with 12" compound miter saws. Kerf boards also known as kerf plates are used to prevent splintering of the wood resulting in cleaner cuts. This part is made of rigid plastic and it is sold individually. Screws to secure this keft board are sold separately. You will need a screwdriver to replace this part.
