This is a genuine Makita replacement part that has been sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with miter saw stands. The metal nut is used with the adjustable bolt at the bottom of the leg. The nut is adjusted by hand to change the height of the bolt/foot to make the leg more stable on different terrain. The nut is sold as an individual replacement part.
