This is an authentic Makita replacement part manufactured for use with miter saws. The upper fence sits on top of the main fence on the left-hand side and is adjustable for making bevel cuts. The upper fence is sold individually, please see model diagram for associative parts.

Lost fence ball bearing, causing fence to not be accurate.
Removed fence and cleaned sawdust from parts. Most difficult task was holding the ball bearing in place while the set screw was adjusted and the fence put back into place. Easy adjustment to bring the fence back into alignment after that.
