It is a genuine item that is supplied by the original manufacturer for use with DeWALT miter saws. This is the special lever that provides a user with a comfortable grip to lock the miter angle. Lock the miter lock lever by pressing downward. The miter mechanism allows a user to miter the saw 50-¦ left and right. It provides an identical replacement for a damaged or a missing component that was installed on a new unit. This lock lever is made of a durable plastic and sold as an individual item. Note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately. The lever is secured on the miter lock rod by two nuts which will need to be removed and resecured. You should only need a flat-head screwdriver to perform this repair.

Removed pin holding lock lever on with punch.
Removed old miter box lock pin, and nuts.
Installed new parts
Install existing pin through lever lock and pressed it back into the miter box table with a C-clamp
1. Remove pin that secures Lock Lever
2. This involved removing pin with a hammer and punch, very difficult to remove.
3. Insert the pin through Lever Lock and back through the housing on the saw.
also very hard to replace.
