This is an original DeWalt replacement part manufactured for use with miter saws. The metal fence connects to the base, and it used to rest material against at a zero degree line for cross-cuts, and miter cuts. This is the lower fence, please note the upper fence is available separately. The fence is sold individually.

Quick response and delivery but wrong part.
I removed the damaged fence and tried to install the replacement fence. My Model DW703 miter saw fence had been discontinued and eReplacements sent me a fence for a Model DW713. Only two of the four screws would line up with my DW703 saw. The two screws (number two on the left and number four on the right) seem to be holding secure at present but haven’t had time to resume cutting at present to ensure that the cuts are true.
