UNPLUG. OPEN TOP COVER. REMOVE BLADE. REMOVE WHEEL. REMOVE BOTH INNER AND OUTER BEARINGS. USED 2 1/2\" SOCKET TO SUPPORT UNDER CENTER OF WHEEL, GIVING SPACE FOR BEARING. USED BRASS DRIFT PIN AND DEAD BLOW TO DRIVE OUT BEARING. ALTERNATING FROM SIDE TO SIDE. BE MINDFULL OF SNAP RING ON INSIDE OF HUB. DO NOT HAMMER ON IT. INSTALLED NEW BEAR INGS USEING BACK OF LARGE SOCKET AND HAMMER ON BEARING TO INSTALL. STOPPING WHEN BEARING REACHED INNER SNAP RING. REINSTALLED WHEEL AND BLADE. ADJUSTED TRACKING. SHORT VERSSION, FOLLOW MANUFACTURES GUIDELINES FOR YOUR SAW.

Bad bearings

Took off pulley removed head stock shaft knocked out bearings installed new ones after putting them in the freezer for 30 minutes that shrinks the bearings so they go in easy. Put shaft back. Installed pulley put belt on and done

Lathe made high pitch sound due to 3 worn bearings & would not change spindle speeds

Disassemble lathe spindle & found aluminium clutches frozen to chrome shaft (gulled because of dissimilar metals). Had to heat parts to separate pieces. Replaced drive belt & 3 bearings. Applied anti seize to aluminium parts to prevent this problem from happening again. Lathe works like new, sounds very quiet, & easily shifts speeds.
