Replacement part is stranded wire with no blade connectors. Log splitter requires correct size blade connector to insert into power distribution board.

1. Removed six screws from cover using Phillips #2.
2. Loosened screw using very small flat blade that releases the blade connector. Unfortunately only the screw securing the red wire would turn. After realizing it required blade connectors that I did not have I decided to cut the old wire and leave its blade connector in place. < br />3. Used wire strippers on old wire (replacement wire is already stripped).
4. Placed heat shrink wrap that I had in garage onto new wire.
5. Soldered old and new wires together.
6. Slid heat shrink wrap over the connections and carefully used heat gun to shrink the wrap without melting the adjacent plastic housing (pretty tight real estate but doable if you are careful).
7. Overlapped heat shrink-wrapped with electrical tape.
8. Carefully placed new capacitor in housing, replaced cover and six screws using philllips #2.

I supplied my own heat shrink wrap, solder, and electrical tape.

Log splitter is working like new. I have split hours of wood in freezing and warm weather with no problems. I recommend this capacitor. You can save a lot of time if you remove the faulty capacitor and obtain the correct size blade connectors for the replacement part.

We acquired a log splitter that didn\'t work. We trouble shot it online and figured out that the capacitor was bad which fits in the electrical control box on the splitter. We ordered the replacement part from ereplacementparts.com as they have the best price and the service was great. We received the part very quickly and had the log spl itter working in no time. To replace the capacitor. Remove the cover on the power box, then disconnect the old capacitor and remove it. Connect the new capacitor, then reattach the cover. The capacitor seems to be the main problem with these log splitters when they won\'t work. A simple fix. We appreciate the good price and the fast shipping we received from ereplacementparts.com

Tested capacitor with a couple different meters. One read good the other got random results. Cleaned all connections in electrical housing and disassembled the breaker to clean contacts. Changed hydraulic fluid. Finally ordered and installed a new capacitor and it runs like new.
