Log caught on the retracting splitting wedge was driven against the splitter control bending it backward breaking the hydraulic fitting
I removed all the hydraulic hoses to the hydraulic controller on top of the log splitter. I then bent the controller forward on the bent/cracked hydraulic fitting to spin it off the splitter so I could remove the damaged fitting. I then took the delivered fitting and attached it to the splitter, then attached the controller to the fitti
... Read moreng and then reattached all the hoses to the controller. Easy peasy, it works fine. This same issue has happened to two other people I know using the Ariens 27 tone Log Splitter, damaging the same hydraulic fitting.
