This is a genuine Coleman replacement part used with gas lanterns. A generator is used to atomize fuel so it can mix with air. This part includes everything needed to replace the generator except the securing nut (which is made to be reused or can be purchased as part # 288-1621). It includes springs, cleaning rod, insulator, and generator tube. Be sure to fully tighten the nut when reinstalling it to ensure that it doesn't leak fuel. One generator assembly is included per order.

1. Replaced the generator.
2. Tightened the nut that connects the globe assembly to the valve.

Generator was defective and the valve was broken. You do need some teflon tape also. Works like new now thanks

IMPORTANT
Prior to disassembled. Photograph with phone the positions of parts for reassemble.
1. Remove cap from the tank and inspect for rust or debris in the fuel tank.
2. Remove old fuel and any rust before repairs.
3. Remove Cap Nut, Cap or Top, Glass Lens, and Mantels. .
4. Remove the Gas Generator. < br />5. Remove retainer nut and slotted washer from the old valve body.
6. Lift the old top section off and set aside.
7. Unscrew retainer screw from the Knob and remove.
8. Now remove the round metal tube from around the valve assemble.
9. With a wrench unscrew the valve assemble from the tank. Careful not to spill any residual fuel.
10. Replacement is the reverse with these additional comments.
11. Use teflon tape on the threads of the valve body and Generator Nut.
12. When installing the Generator, MAKE SURE THE NEEDLE JET INSIDE IS BROUGHT DOWN AND INSERTED INTO THE HOLE ON THE GENERATOR CONTROL ROD. NOTE, THE ROD MUST BE IN THE UP POSITION OR OFF POSITION TO INSERT THE JET.
Maker sure to get the Air Intake Tube in correct position and is free of obstructions when installing the top.
