This is an authentic Echo replacement part that has been sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with backpack blowers. The ignition coil connects to the bottom of the short block. This item creates an electric charge as the magnets on the flywheel pass. The charges are sent to the spark plug to ignite the fuel/air mixture within the combustion chamber. A sign that the coil may need to be replaced is trouble starting or idling. The ignition coil is sold as an individual replacement part.
