It is an authentic OEM item which is made for use with Weed Eater, Poulan and Husqvarna handheld lawn and garden equipment. The breather cap allows the air in the fuel tank. Unfortunately, over time it may wear out and begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement. Make sure to refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct installation of the new part. It is a high-quality breather cap is made of durable plastic material and is sold as an individual component. Replacing it is a simple task that does not require any tools.
1. Unscrewed cap
2. Removed old breather cap with fingers (may need needle nose plyers)
3. Cleaned underneath fuel cap removing debris
4. Inserted new breather cap by using fingers and lightly pushing new breather cap into bottom of fuel cap.
5. Add a little fuel and screw fuel cap back on.

Pulled what was left of the old breather out of the cap and put the new one in. The new breather seemed much better quality than the one that came with the blower.

Rubber in gas cap seal which enables the gas cap to vent the gas tank without leaking gas shrank and became gooey and was letting gas leak out of the cap/tank.
