It is a genuine manufacturer-supplied replacement gasket which is specially designed for use with Echo backpack blowers and vacuums. This gasket provides an air-tight seal for the cylinder, over time it may wear out and crack eventually requiring a replacement. It is made of high-quality composite material and it is sold individually.
Removed air intake & exhaust systems, recoil housing & blower fan, flywheel, magneto assy. Then the cylinder,piston & wrist pin, clips, shim washers. Reverse procedure to assemble . The air gap on coil to flywheel is the thickness of a business card. It started 1st pull !

Heavy carbon build up from incorrect oil and gas mixture.
Disassembled entire blower. Removed the piston and ring. Cleaned all carbon from the cylinder ports, piston and piston ring groove. Honed the cylinder for a nice cross hatch. Replaced the piston ring and the base gasket. Reassembled the entire blower while cleaning every part before installing. Filled the gas tank with the correct synthet
... Read moreic oil and 93 octane gas at a 40-1 mixture. Ignition on, carb primed and pulled twice when the engine started. Adjusted carburetor for maximum RPM at full throttle. I\'ve been working on small engines for over 50 years so I\'ve made all the dumb mistakes that you can imagine. Just pay attention when disassembling or take pictures to refer back to later when assembling. Most of all, have fun and enjoy the job.
