Correct Engine - Damaged Part
The engine was the correct for the ES-255 Blower / Vac according to Echo. However it came with the Woodruff Key installed on the crankshaft. The flywheel for many Echo models does not require the key and it must be removed. The key on the model shipped could not be removed without damaging the shaft. Ordered the same short block from a different site and was able to easily remove the key and properly install the flywheel.
