2. Took out all apparent screws holding case together, but the case would not come apart. Tried prying, cursing and tugging, then looked at parts diagram again, finding two additional screws under the decal on the side of the case. Scraped holes in th ... Read more e decal, took out the additional two screws and it came apart nicely.
3. Replaced the cord with the compression caps and began putting the case back together. It is a bit of a trick to get the spring holding the screen frame on the bottom of the case in place while keeping the plastic nozzle spring (on the front of the machine) in place. After a few tries, it went together ok. Put the case screws back in, checking that each was firmly seated (the case is plastic, so don\'t use a power drill or they may strip out).
4. Tested the blower (with the extension cord properly connected to reduce the strain on the plug) by showering the neighbor\'s driveway with leaves. Most satisfying!
