This is an authentic Troy-Bilt replacement part. The v-belt, 5l x 35.28 is constructed of a rubber composite, and is compatible with several lawn and garden tractors. The belt is secured onto the engine pulley and flat idler pulleys, providing a balanced amount of force in the engine. A wrench may be necessary for the repair. This part is sold individually.

Drive belt busted due to wear.

Parts Used:
954-04331
Lowered cutting deck and turned tractor on its side.
Located and cut old belt...removed.
Measured old belt to new belt for size confirmation.
Loosened deck cutting belt from rear tensioner.
Removed rear bar and pulley cover under engine to access pulley.
Loosened 2 bolts to pulley to give space for belt passa ge between frame and pulley.
Used pry bar to move frame crosshaft to allow from belt to pass through to engine main pulley.
Removed lower idler pulley belt keeper bolt.
Slide belt on all pulleys except to last pulley. May need to push brake pedel all the way down( 2people job) to allow belt play.
Make sure belt is correct and not twisted in all pulleys.
Replace belt keeper bolt.
Replace frame cover and rear bumper bar.
Turn back on its side and allow fuel to evaporate before starting.
Ready to go.

Dropped down double drive pulleys. Loosened belt guides, placed new belt on and reassembled everything.
