The special deck engagement spring is commonly used to provide tension to allow the idler arm to pivot to engage or disengage the mower's deck. Power takeoff spring was broken

I lowered the deck and lowered the power take off to its lowest position. I then was able to install the spring of the deck engagement bar and then to the power takeoff cable by moving the engagement bar about 1/2\" . Once in place started the tractor and engaged the blade worked great.
