This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is used in the wheels/tires of many Murray lawn tractors and snow throwers. It allows air to be pumped in to inflate the tires, then automatically closes and is kept sealed by the pressure in the chamber, preventing the air from escaping. The part is made of a plastic housing holding a metal valve, with a threaded plastic cap. To replace this part, you will need to disconnect the tire from the rim to access the inner part of the rim. Push the old valve stem through from the outside, then insert the new part from the inside. You may want to apply some form of lubricant to the new valve stem to make it easier to push into place.
