I had to drop the deck for maintenance anyway but you can remove the pulleys without doing that, just a tighter space. I found an idler pulley on the mower deck missing a seal and dry, dirty and rusty so I found a washer, ground it to size, cleaned and greased the bearing and put the washer in with a tappy tap tap (AvE).
Remove nut/ s and pulley, install new ones, tighten, finish deck maintenance and reinstall.
One nut was stripped but I got a 14mm socket on tight and got it loose. I thought I\'d need vise grip.
If you don\'t want to fully drop the deck but need extra room, take the drop arms loose and prop them up.

I\'m very disappointed in this Snapper LT152 with the Murray frame. I hope these Briggs replacement parts are better.
