This is an authentic OEM part for use with MTD and Yard-Man Lawn Tractors and Lawn Mowers. The blade drive belt turns the pulley that spins the blades on the mower deck. This part is sold individually. The most common reason for replacing the belt is when it is worn, as part of regular (at least yearly) preventive maintenance. If the belt is broken, the mower blades will not rotate. There are no tools needed to replace the V-Belt.

Totally worn out v-belt connecting engine to mower deck

Parts Used:
954-0350
Removed the cover to the connecting pulley on the mower deck. Pulled the clip on the idler pulley and removed the old belt. Installed the new sturdy v-belt, and slipped it onto the engine pulley, and the idler pulley. Replaced the clip on the idler pulley. Replaced the cover onto the deck, tightening down the three screws with a nut drive r. The belt stays in position very well, particularly helpful when disengaging the mower, and starting back up again.
