1. Remove the old control cable on the handle and the engine.
2. Insert the new cable at both ends.
3. Use plastic ties to secure the cable to the handlebar near the bottom and the top.
Replaced cable with new one. Only reason it took over 2 hours is because length of replacement appeared to be too long. After extensive search on the Internet, I learned the end of the black covering of cable could be unscrewed slightly to decrease length. Removed the old cable. Routed the new cable where the old one was. Attached both ends. Wire tied it in place. Mower was up and running in less than 5 minutes.
1 Removed broken control cable
2 Ordered new control cable from Replacement Parts.
3 Receives part in short order.
4. Reattached new control cable to mower
5 Used wire ties to secure control cable to mower handle.
6 Mower started right up and functions normally
