Ring Set 81-0590

1. Pulled the engine from the chassis.
2. Pulled the bottom half of the engine from the top half.
3. Replaced the piston rings on the piston.
4. Used a home made piston compressor to hold the rings in place so I could reinsert the piston into the upper half of the engine. My piston compressor was made out of furnace stra ... Read more p - my issue was that the piston came out of the upper half still attached to the crank. So when I reinserted it into the upper half I had to push it in from the top of piston first. So after I got the piston in past the rings, I had to cut the strap off. There is just no room for your fingers to hold the rings in place because of the shape of the upper half.
5. Attached engine back to the chassis and reassembled the rest of the snow blower.
6. The blower started on abut the fourth pull! Haven\'t used it yet, but I\'m looking forward to it. The Snow blower was made in 1988!
