Went online in search of a replacement oem part (ignition key) and found it at Ereplacement Parts. Ordered it and it arrived really fast. Received it via USPS. Pulled it out of my mail box, open the package, pulled out the ignition key and inserted it into my zero turn mower. Turned the key and boom. My machine fired up. I ordered 2 ignit ion keys.

Starter pull cord does not have to be removed or detached for this repair. Remove the two screws securing the front control panel plate. Lift plate up and out of the way. Remove the two side screws, near the control panel side, securing the top cover. ( The two larger screws towards the front do not need to be removed ) Carefully lift the top cover up until there is access to the rear of the ignition switch. Plnch the side locking arms on the switch until the switch is removable from the front of the panel. Remove the wiring clip from the back of the switch. Insert the new switch into the opening until the locking clips click in. Attach the wiring clip to the terminals on the new switch. Reattach top cover with two side screws. Replace control panel plate and secure it with the two screws. Insert new or existing old key to check switch functionality.
Repair completed in less than 10 minutes.

Just removed 2 screws to bottom plate. I unplugged wires to switch. Pushed in on both sides of switch and pushed up out of top plate. Pushed in new switch and connected wires to it. Replaced bottom plate with 2 screws. Turned on switch. Pushed primer button and put on choke. Pushed electric start button and it fired right up. Let it run f or a minute and turned key off and it stopped running. Problem solved.
