Original trailing shield had been cut by the mower blade when pulling the mower backwards. Replacement shield design will likely eliminate this issue from happening again.

Replace shield when mower gas tank is at or near empty. Tip mower onto one side and remove mounting screw on that side with Phillips head screwdriver. Repeat for other side. Mount new shield using original screws.

The screws had to be removed to take off the old part. I put the new part on and put the screws back in and the job was complete.

Torsion spring required a little muscle to remove the mounting bar across the handle.

The air filter was easy just remove the cover and old filter then replace. The trailing shield was just a few bolts to undo then mount the new one.
