It is really a very simple job if everything goes right, but my axle spindle was seized on the axle so I had to heat it up with torch and use air chisel to remove it.
After that everything went together fine.

I disconnected the old cable with the broken part and then installed the new cable. Since my Snapper is designed to be stood on end, accessing the repair area was easier than with other mowers. The axel boots required removing the left wheel and I don\'t have a puller to do that so I cheated and slit the boots to put them on. Tightened the clamps and now the axle is mostly covered from debris.

Noticed the axle boots broken, so I felt the problem mite be that dirt was causing the extra strain on shift handle. Replaced the parts that I got from ereplacementparts. All fit perfect and now it shifts and drives great. Thanks

Tipped the machine up on the back bumper stands. Removed the rear tires and left hand fender from the lawn tractor.
Removed old cables and replaced with the new ones.
Cleaned parts that was going to be reused.
Cleaned and Greased the rear axe before installing the new rubber protective boots on the rear axel.
Re-a ssembled the rear axel assembly. I had to add nylon
shims to take up the slop between the rear axel and the
left hand tire bushing bearing prior to installing the left hand fender and tires.
Adjusted the chain case and brake cables as required.
Test ran the tractor after the repairs were made.
All pats fit and performed great. Tractor is running good !
