The bail operator has a steel tube welded in place to hold the OPC connecting linkage. Previous owner removed the steel tube with a chisel. I have a friend who welded another steel tube in place, I primed and painted it all up, installed the OPC rod and spring, OPC, loop, and now the safety control works fine. I wouldn\'t use the mower without it in place and working.
