Part of the plastic axle mount in the front cover failed, so the front wheels would not maintain a consistent cutting height. The adjuster plate and lever (part of the axle assembly) had become somewh
1. The blade was a simple 1-bolt mount. Removed and replaced.
2. The front cover is held on by 5 or 6 self-tapping screws, easily removed once found.
3. Wheel covers pry of with any flat blade; wheels are single bolt, easily removed.
4. Old adjuster plate screws were removed to reuse in new assembly. Old adjuster lever k

6. Old wheels and wheel covers attached to new axle assembly.
7. Axle assembly \'snapped\' into front cover.
8. Front cover reattached to mower deck using original screws.

Everything aligned perfectly. No adjustments required.

2. Removed axle. Note: needed an extra set of hands for this step as it required using two pliers to pry open the fitting where the axle slips into. The extra set of hands (my wife) pulled out the axle while I held the wedge (fitting area) open.

Very easy repair, just plan on having someone help you for about 5 minutes.
Took wheels off, lay mower on side with carburetor up,
Used snap ring pliers to separate tabs holding front axle assembly in place. Then popped out assembly with large flathead screw driver, repeated for other side , snapped in place new axle assembly by hand. Put wheels back on.
Remove 5 bolts from deck
Install new adjuster plate on new front cover
Install assembly on front of mower
If you do this repair replace the 5 bolts that hold the assembly they will be rounded off from normal wear under the deck

Broken wheel adjuster., Very cheaply made for heavy work 3rd time replaced
Front and back wheel adjuster broke, need to have both wheels have a adjuster made of steel not tin ( thatÆs for front and back wheels). This tin wheel adjuster is too weak for heavy work. 3rd time replacing.

Removed and replaced front plastic guard, and replaced front axle as well.
Snap out axle, remove front guard held on with 6 screws. Install new guard.

Removed both adjustment plate and front axle assembly and replaced both
with brand new parts. Once I got them apart I figured out how easy it would
be to fix the problem by buying the replacement parts. It wasn\'t any problem
1. Removed wheels with drill with mower on floor.
2. Removed front axel, by pressing down lock and removing one side at a time.
3. Removed screws holding front cover with using power drill.

5. Popped in new front axel .
