This is an authentic OEM part. The Makita compression spring 7 is made for use with several router and grinder devices. The metal spring is often fitted in the motor bracket, providing tension to the pin. This component is sold individually. Please refer to the specific manual for repair instructions. No tools should be necessary for making the installation.
Insert the spring into the hole in the bottom of the motor bracket first, then the pin with the flanged end out, then press it in a bit more and place the retaining ring in the slot near the outside of the housing.
