Had to squeeze with pliers the black plastic connector up by the handle to enable me to pull out cable..then removed spring from mower drive and removed cable. Hooked the new cable spring to drive and snapped the black plastic part through the hole near the mower handle then put the end of cable through hole in handle---adjusted the cable
