Needed a new blade, drive cable, front wheel drive gears, drive belt needed replaced as well. Replaced the two front wheels. Tuned it up. Runs like new.

Star shape on adapter stripped off after SOMEBODY hit a immovable object.

1. Remove gas from tank.
2. Tip mower onto side with gas cap down.
3. Remove blade bolt with 9/16 socket wrench and remove bolt and blade..
4.Tap adapter with rubber hammer until loose.
5. Slide adapter down engine shaft until you can remove self-propel belt off pulley on adapter. Might have to use screwdriver to get belt started off pulley then it\'s comes off easy once it\'s past the guides on the bottom of the mower.
6. Reverse procedure. Slide new adapter onto engine shaft. I put a little WD-40 on shaft first. It only goes on one way on the shaft.
7. Put drive belt back on making sure adapter is all the way up on engine shaft and drive belt is in pulley groove and under belt guides on mower.
8. Install blade onto star shape on adapter and hold in place as you install blade bolt with flat washer and lock washer. Tighten to spec with socket wrench.
9. Put some gas in the gas tank and send your girlfriend back out to mow! ;-)

changed oil put a new spark plug in new breather and new air filter plus a new carburator and a new pulling belt plus a new blade for it . and fired up on first pull. plus i put new fuel line on with a inline fiter so no trash would get to the carburator

I used up the fuel and made sure the oil cap was tight and I unplugged the cable to the spark plug. I rotated the attached old blade to position my blade holder to clamp on the front of the body. I propped up the front on a piece of wood with a board in the back to keep the wheels from moving. I used my bolt tool(ratcheting wrench) to rem ove the bolt. I unscrewed the blade holder from the body of the mower. I installed the new blade and brought the bolt to tight enough to engage the splines of the blade and clamped the blade holder down on the new blade and lawnmower body. I then brought the bolt to the proper torque. I removed the rear support of wood and made sure the oil was settled. I re-filled the fuel tank and started the mower engine and I used new sharp bladed Poulan to finish mowing the lawn with even grass. The engine runs better now also.

Replaced the blade and skirt

I removed gas from lawnmower
For the skirt, I removed the screws holding the skirt in place, then removed the old skirt. I Next I placed the new skirt onto the backside of the mower and replaced the screws.
For the blade, I placed the mower (with assistance) onto blocks. My assistant made sure the mower was still at all ti mes. Then I placed a block under the mower so the blade would not move. I removed the bolt and blade, cleaned area then replaced the new blade and prior bolt.
I made sure the underlining area was free of any grass clippings and cleaned. Finally, the
mower was safely placed on the ground, filled with gas and completed a test start of the
mower.
