The compression spring attaches to the height indicator bracket and provides a cushion as the bracket moves up and down to indicate the cutting height. The most common reason for replacing the compression spring is if the blades won't turn. This part is sold individually. The tool needed to replace the compression spring are pliers.

Positive (red) battery cable was corroded and two parts associated with the deck lift fell off unit needing replacement.

1. Replaced spring and button into deck lift handle.
2. Removed positive battery cable and replaced with new cable. Also, there is a separate wire associated with the cable that needed to be cut and spliced together with new cable.
