The most common reason for replacing the drive control is if it is broken, causing the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. This part is sold individually. The tool that you will need to replace the drive control is pliers.

Self propel drive mechanism broke

Removed the old mechanism, attached the cable near the belt as the old one was, then attached the new one using the three original screws. It was my first time to do that and I was pleasantly surprised as to how easy it was . My wife couldnÆt believe it went without problems!

Drive control lever had broken off

Removed the plastic housing on top by left front tire and then removed a few small screws on bracket holding the cable and detached cable, be patient you can do this!
