good replacement carb, but the choke lever was wrong
With all the different configurations for choke setups that are out there, I wish the carb came with kit options so the choke arm could be changed easily. Other than that, this carb worked perfectly, and started my mower on the first pull. (after I got the choke figured out.)

Lawn mower would only start with starter fluid, then die
I will assume if you are attempting this repair you know the basics so I won\'t cover the step by step. Just watch an instructional video and that will tell you most of it, but they leave one part out. Hard to describe without pictures and I will try to keep description of parts simple. As you set the carburetor in you have to align the l
... Read moreinkage arm correctly. If you just set it in how it lines up naturally (every section of carb linkage arm to the right of assembly on mower) you are headed for frustration. The \"front\" of the carb (facing toward you as you put it in) has a linkage arm assembly (black plastic) on top that controls that \"front\" flapper valve. Set the black plastic pin that sticks up on the carb linkage arm behind (to the left of) the metal tab of the assembly protruding from the mower. You will notice another black plastic assembly under the metal one. This piece will interface with (to left of) the end of the carb linkage arm. You will notice that everything is under spring tension and you want that valve to be closed when the mower initially starts up. As the wax element heats up on the assembly fixed to the mower it pushes that black plastic assembly to the right, pushing on the linkage arm on the carb which opens it up. This is the correct operation but you want that metal portion of the assembly to hold the linkage arm (via that pin that sticks up) to the left (closed) when the mower is cold. Hope this help.....wont make sense til you do it. Also, I had to call Honda to get the right carburetor p/n because the website did not have the right one listed. I found that out when I received the part and had to send it back. I highly recommend you purchase new gaskets as well.
