The only trick to replacing the cable is being able to adjust the length at the lever side so that the position of the metal rectangle that engages the wheel drive system is just about 1/16\"-1/8\" beyond the drive\'s lever under the mower. That rectangle end has to slip over the drive lever and that is the only trick to this install.
1. Flipped the mower on it\'s side.
2. Figured out how to disengage old cable from drive unit without mower disassembly. (long handle, long nose heavy needle-nose pliers)
3. Fished the new cable through the same route/path as the old cable
4. Reattached new cable to same location as old cable

7. Mower now operates exactly like it did before the original cable broke.
I believe the reason the cable broke was improper assembly of the new mower at the dealership. A tie wrap pulled the drive able almost 90 degrees from the handle entry angle. This means the cable had to navigate a sharp corner which caused excess friction and premature failure. I\'ll tie wrap the replacement cable further down the handle so cable positioning is correct and this failure won\'t happen again.

Propulsion transmission wouldnGÇÖt engage because cable broke.
1. Disconnect spark plug.
2. Put mower on itGÇÖs right side.
3. Cut tie-wraps that hold the cable.
4. Use slotted screwdriver to pry out the plastic bushing that holds the cable casing at the transmission.
5. Notice how the cable end just hooks over the transmission lever so you will know how to install the new one

6. Unhook the cable end and pull cable out.
7. Thread the proper end of the new cable in and guide the plastic bushing into place, pushing until it clicks into place.
8. Hook the cable end onto the transmission lever. Takes a little patience but it isnGÇÖt really hard to do.
9. Put mower back upright.
10. Using adjustable or 10mm wrench, disconnect old cable housing.
11. Remove the pin that holds the cable end and re-install with the new cable end.
12. Adjust cable housing so there is no slack and no pull with the nuts tightened.
13. Re-install spark plug boot.
14. Start engine and test the transmission in all speeds.
