This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with walk-behind lawnmowers. The drive control cable is used to engage the transmission when using the self-propel feature. The connections at the ends of the cable can wear out or break from normal use and replacing a broken cable is a relatively easy repair. This drive control cable is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.

1. Unbolt old cable from handle bar using nut driver and adjustable wrench
2. Used pliers to depress clips on lower end of cable and remove that piece from deck
3. Used claw end of hammer to pop Christmas-tree type clamp out of deck
4. Install dog-leg end of spring on end of cable into hole in drive transmission below de

5. Push clips in lower end of cable through slot in deck to secure.
6. Push Christmas-tree type clip on new cable into hole in deck.
7. Route cable up along handle bar leg
8. Hook cast metal dogleg piece on upper end of cable through hole in control bail.
9. Secure adjustment block to left side of handle bars with original bolt.
10. Adjust wheel on adjustment block to take up slack in cable.
11. Secure cable to handle bars with a couple of cable ties.
