Replaced the engine with a new Briggs&Stratton 7.75 professional series. The engine stop control cable from the old Tecumseh engine was too long to work correctly on the new engine. When the new cable was installed it adjusted perfectly. If you do this job look up the cable for a Briggs powered mower.
