This is an authentic OEM supplied replacement item that is specially produced for use on lawn mowers. Mulch plug is secured to the side of the mower deck to keep the grass under the deck for mulching. This makes the grass clippings smaller to be better as mulch since the smaller clippings will decompose quicker releasing their nutrients into the soil. It is a recommended from the manufacturer to purchase part # 759-0424 with part 731-04651 (Mulch Plug). Part # 759-0424- is a Strap Kit-Mulch, that you secure the chute with to help avoid the chute from falling off.
