This is an authentic OEM part. The square anvil assembly is made for use with several square impact wrenches, and is sold individually. This metal component is fitted onto the impacting assembly, transferring power to the wrench head. A screwdriver and pliers are required for the removal and replacement.

Removed the front of the impact, removed the old anvil. Put some grease on the new anvil and placed it in the front housing, then attached the front end.

Old style anvile on my impact wrench lost the bearing that holds sockets
Remove screws on housing. Carefully open housing. Remove old anvil, but keep pieces from coming all apart. There is a bearing in the old anvil. Place in New anvil. Put back together
