Back up and running
Our Hunter ceiling fan would not start on its own. It would only turn if you spun the blade by hand first. Thinking that the motor might be burned out...and also possibly a fire hazard if it was powered on, but not running... I was going to replace the fan. Then I did a little research on Youtube and found out about this capacitor. (Prior to this, I didn't realize that a ceiling fan had one) Suspecting that this could be the problem, I ordered the replacement part. It should be an easy replacement for anyone who is reasonably handy. Once installed, the fan was like new again...and much cheaper than replacing the entire fan. If your fan won't start, I would suggest replacing this capacitor first. before buying a new fan.
